Join us for a conversation with Julius Green, CPA, JD. Julius is the past president of the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) and former chair (and current member) of the Diversity Committee. He is also a former chair (and current member) of the PICPA CPA Foundation, which focuses on CPA pipeline initiatives, including diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession.
Julius is a Villanova Business Fellow, working to help the university's accounting department to develop its DEI strategy. His other focus has been working with diverse students. He is a retired tax partner and regional tax leader for the Philadelphia tax services group at Baker Tilly US LLP (formerly Baker Tilly Virchow Krause).
In this session, we will discuss the importance of leadership from the top to improve diversity across the profession. Many state societies have developed programs to help firms launch a D&I initiative, notably to support partners looking to drive change. An effective D&I strategy requires buy-in and leadership support. Julius has a unique perspective on the role of leadership in driving change. We hope you join the conversation!

Julius Green, CPA, JD, is a recently retired tax partner with the Philadelphia office of the public accounting firm of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. He has held significant leadership roles with Baker Tilly, including a partnership role since 2002. He has been the Philadelphia regional tax leader, the firmwide exempt organization tax leader, and leader of diversity & inclusion efforts in the firm’s eastern region. The firm partners elected him to the Board of Partners in August 2017.
His other work experience includes 11 years with two international firms and 12 years with two universities. He is a recognized leader in diversity and inclusion with several strategic roles in leading D&I efforts in the accounting profession. He also has more than twenty years of experience mentoring young professionals, college and high school students in business and accounting career opportunities.

Jina is a consultant and speaker on diversity, inclusion, culture, and belonging. She creates training programs and workshops to help clients move forward in their D&I journey. She is a storyteller and speaks candidly about her experiences, hard lessons, and ‘aha’ moments that helped her understand the importance of individuality, the value of curiosity, and the courage it takes to “just” be yourself. Jina draws from her unique background and mix of work experiences to offer examples and share insights designed to benefit everyone across the workplace ecosystem – executives, management, employees, and customers.
Previously, she was Principal Consultant at EtiennePartners (EP), a boutique consulting firm that offered a unique strategy development, workshops & coaching to leaders, executives and entrepreneurs. Co-founded with her husband, EP was a full-time partnership in both work and life. Although in different professions, their work often intersected around the importance of self-awareness in leadership and navigating conflict within teams. Combining their experiences, backgrounds, and work led to the development of their unique approach to D&I, which she continues to use in her practice today.
